EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS
Free Courses
(Reference Policy 7.05)
Regular employees who work 20 hours (.5 FTE) or more per week are entitled to take up to 6 credit hours per semester and 8 total credit hours during the summer sessions without tuition charge or general fee charge. Courses are available to spouse if the employee does not use all the credit hours. Employees whose spouse is also an employee must use their own employee tuition remission benefits. Tuition remission forms can be turned into the Benefit Services department. Forms received in the Benefit Services department by the Thursday before classes are scheduled to begin will be processed by the University Accounts Receivable in lieu of receiving a down payment from the employee. Forms not received by the Thursday before classes begin may result in classes being cancelled unless the 10% down payment has been made on the student account. Courses may be subject to taxation. Additional fees are not included in this benefit.
