Employee Assistance Program
(Reference Policy 7.08)
The EAP is a program to assist employees who are faced with personal problems, which materially affect work performance. The EAP is an employee benefit administered by the Counseling and Student Development Center and located at Employee Health Services, Genesis Building C.
- Provides confidential counseling and consultation services to any NMSU employee experiencing personal and or work related problems.
- Provides consultation for supervisors concerning identification and intervention with employees who are experiencing personal and or work related problems.
- Provides educational seminars on stress management and other topics pertaining to employees' well-being.
- Provides mediation to resolve workplace conflict.
- Acts as a referral service for employees who are experiencing issues with Alcohol/Drug Abuse. Services provided for drug and alcohol awareness, assessment, and referral are in accordance with provisions stipulated by Federal Drug-Free Workplace, Drug-Free Work Force, and Drug-Free Schools and Communities legislation.
The following are a summary of services provided by EAP:
University Health Center
(Reference Policy 7.08)
A medical clinic on main campus available to all regular employees, regardless of coverage through the medical program. Dependents of regular employees are covered if they are covered on the NMSU medical plan. Visits to the University Health Center are not recorded against annual or sick leave.
Health Promotion Program
Fitness programs provided by NMSU Intramurals.
