Subject: Deferred Pay Election for the 2013-2014 academic year
All regular full-time faculty members hired on an academic basis are provided the opportunity to elect a twelve-month pay option prior to the beginning of each academic year. Election of the twelve-month deferral option provides 24 semi-monthly checks. The standard academic pay basis provides 18 semi-monthly pay checks.
For the 2013-14 academic year the pay schedule is as follows:
Academic basis (18 checks): First semi-monthly check will be issued 8/30/2013 with the final payment issued 5/15/2014.
Deferred basis (24 checks): First semi-monthly check will be issued 8/30/2013 with the final payment issued 8/15/2014.
To elect or revoke the deferred pay option for academic year 2013-2014, you must complete the attached Deferred Pay Authorization Form and submit to the HR Services Office no later than August 1, 2013. If your form is not received by the deadline, you will continue to be paid in accordance with your current pay basis. If you do not wish to make a change to your current pay frequency, there is no need to submit the form. All changes are effective with the first pay issued 8/30/2013.
