Outside Entities sometimes request employment verification for former employees of New Mexico State University. Below are the two ways limited information can be obtained.
The university receives many calls from financial institutions, prospective employers, and other businesses seeking employment-related information. Human Resource Services limits verbal verification to name, title, dates of employment, and current status. Anything outside this parameter will need to be requested following the written verification protocol because some employees may have legal reasons to protect even some of this basic information. All inquiries must be directed to Human Resource Services at (575) 646-8000.
All requests for written employment verification must contain the employee’s signature authorizing the university to release such information. All written inquiries must be directed to Human Resource Services via fax at (575) 646-2806 or via mail to P.O. Box 30001 MSC 3HRS; Las Cruces, NM 88003. Written requests will be returned to the requesting entity either by fax or via mail using the address provided by requesting entity. Employees may obtain a copy of verification sent to the entity by requesting it via email to email@example.com or calling the Human Resource Services office at (575) 646-8000.
