Purpose of Classification: | |
Leads the work of journeyman level HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanics and Trades Helpers and participates in the repair, maintenance, inspection and installation of systems and journeyman level crafts projects. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Performs, assigns and inspects the work of HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanics and trades helpers; initiates corrective actions to secure satisfactory standards and timely project completion. Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment maintenance. Maintains time, payroll and material records; submits reports. Determines material and labor estimates. Assists in performance evaluation process. Participates in maintenance, repair and installation duties in the trades. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the trade. Knowledge of all applicable codes, standards and regulations. | |
Skill in installation, repair and maintenance of all systems and assignments common to the trade. Skill in estimating time and material requirements for work projects. | |
Ability to effectively communicate. Ability to climb ladders and stairs. Ability to lift 50 pounds. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- High School diploma or GED certificate. | |
Experience- Eight (8) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
Equivalency- Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience. | |
Certifications/License- Must possess a current EPA Universal Refrigerant Handler Card and a New Mexico Journeyman's Refrigeration License. Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job. | |
