Purpose of Classification:
Responsible for promoting innovative college teaching, providing a venue for sharing pedagogical strategies across disciplines, introducing advances in teaching and curricular improvement, strengthening graduate students' teaching skills and enhancing and facilitating undergraduate and graduate student learning.
Standard Duties:
Develops, plans, and implements curriculum and educational programs for designated groups of students. Advises, tests, and teaches students in a variety of academic subjects. Promotes programs and recruits students through networking with local schools and community groups. Prepares appropriate documentation and reports on programs and on student progress. Recruits, trains, and supervises tutors and teachers who participate in the adult basic education programs. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of adult learning theory and methodologies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops. Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to plan and implement promotional programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Eight (8) years of increasingly progressive management experience in one or more areas that report to this position.
