The benefit calculator is designed to assist new hires and potential new hires with calculating the date benefit enrollment paperwork is due to Benefit Services and the estimated effective date benefit coverage would begin, based on your hire date. You may also estimate the per pay period deduction for a specific benefit, should you choose to enroll in that benefit.

Only employees hired into a benefit eligible position may enroll in the NMSU benefit programs. All benefit programs, except retirement, are voluntary and require an enrollment form to participate.

New, benefit eligible, employees have 31 days from the official date of hire to submit enrollment forms. Benefit effective dates vary by benefit type. Based on the information you supplied above, the estimated due dates, effective dates and rates are listed below. All calculations are based on full time employment.

If new employees do not submit enrollment paperwork by the deadline to enroll, there may be an option for late enrollment for some benefits, with restrictions.
