Purpose of Classification:
Serve as an administrator with oversight and management responsibilities for all fiscal affairs pertinent to all sources of funds available to the College of Agriculture Consumer & Environmental Sciences as defined in federal and state administrative guidelines with which the college must comply.
Standard Duties:
Supervise, direct, delegate, and evaluate work of assigned staff. Conduct routine review of fiscal conditions of the college with senior college administration for the three major units. Prepare and present monthly financial reviews on the availability of funds from all sources available to the College. Prepare budget requests for submission to the central budget office. Monitor journal entries, budget revisions, etc. reflecting changes as instructed by college administration. Prepare summary financial reports in compliance with federal appropriated funds required by federal law. Meet with appropriate department heads/ work group/staff/university administrators to discuss problems and resolutions. Implement and administer all federal and state administrative, fiscal and operating compliance requirements. Oversight of personnel related actions. Perform related duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
University and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation; university accounting system as well as other automated accounting systems; data base programs; general accounting principles; federal, state, county, and contract agency reporting rules, regulations, and current practices; Federal Aviation Association’s(FAA) regulations.
Short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; public contact; report preparation and presentation; oral and written communication; computers; conflict resolution.
Direct, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; deal with individuals on a management level; interpret and develop reasonable responses to external audit organizations; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and evaluate information.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Earned terminal degree in a directly related discipline and tenured or tenurable at the rank of professor.
