Purpose of Classification:
Under limited supervision, manages and administers banking, tax and cash investment functions for the University. Develops and establishes standards and procedures for the University's investments banking program in accordance with state and federal banking regulations and laws and University policy.
Standard Duties:
Oversees overall operations of cash banking and tax functions of the University. Interacts with internal and external auditors, provides information and access to banking and investment records as required. Manages short-term investment funds in accord with federal and state statutes and University Policy; Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement. Designs, establishes and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to support the unit's overall goals and objectives in an effective manner; recruits, employs, trains, supervises and evaluates unit staff. Oversees the overall operations of unit(s) reporting to this position and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses. Acts as deposit and collateral statutory compliance officer for the University. Negotiates banking compensating balances. Negotiates interest rates on certificates of deposit and repurchase agreements with area banks to maximize interest earnings. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

University and department policies and procedures; practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation; investment tools; yield calculation and purchasing at premium or discount
Short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public relation skills in maintaining relationships with banks and investment houses.
Direct, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and evaluate information; operate a computer.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- None
   Certifications/License- Preferred qualifications (CPA, CCM, CTP, etc.)
