Purpose of Classification:
Under general supervision, performs strategic Bus research and analysis for the various client departments and components of a major academic, research, and/or service component of the University. Develops business plans and market research studies in support of specific client directions and initiatives. Provides consultation, coordination, and/or staff support to various strategic committees and programs.
Standard Duties:
Conducts and coordinates financial, product, market, operational, and related research to support strategic and Bus planning within the various departments and programs of the client group. Interprets, evaluates, and interrelates research data, and develops integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making. Plans and coordinates the development of primary and secondary market research studies in support of strategic planning and specific marketing initiatives, as required, and presents findings of studies to client committees. Manages and coordinates one or more large research and/or survey databases, as appropriate; performs specified data analyses and studies as requested, and develops and presents ad hoc reports in support of various initiatives, both internal and external to the University. Coordinates and supports the development and implementation of special research and/or survey initiatives related to specific research goals and/or marketing directives. Provides consultative, technical, and staff support, as appropriate, to standing strategic decision-making committees. Manages, coordinates, and evaluates the efforts of external organizations and consulting operatives engaged in specifically commissioned research activities. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and appreciation of Bus concepts and requirements as applicable to a large academic, research, and/or health care facility. Knowledge and understanding of business research principles, processes, and techniques. Knowledge of the principles of strategic business decision-making. Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
Consultative and advisory skills. Skill in the use of computerized spreadsheet, relational database, and word processing software. Skill in the use of survey and market research methodologies, systems, and techniques.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports. Ability to develop and prepare Bus analyses and plans. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Three (3) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
