Purpose of Classification:
The Post Award Administration Manager supports faculty and staff post-award project management. The incumbent understands the unique processes involved in the overall research effort and has the ability to comprehend the needs of the individual researchers. This position is responsible for all Post Award research accounting functions and the development/maintenance of electronic systems in support of Post Award Administration. The position is involved in strategic planning for the department, policy making and maintaining the department’s organizational effectiveness alongside the director.
Standard Duties:
Manages the Banner attribute new award setup/modifications/sub recipient awards. Responsible for project management and system implementations. Responsible for administration of Electronic Effort Certification (EEC) and Electronic Labor Redistribution (ELR) administration. Processes research transactions related to grant/contract management and maintains grant/contract records in compliance with university and research sponsor policies. This position provides a cohesive and flexible post-award management of sponsored funding that supports the communication of university policies, fairly applies rules and restrictions of all sponsors and the university, supports and improves the financial sophistication of SPA, and builds processes to support SPA and the research community; create and maintain research accounts in central financial systems on a current basis; reviews and approves requested research account updates, research cost transfers, and expenditures for research projects; resolve award-related problems and concerns with funding agencies as needed; have responsibility for close out process of expired projects; maintain accurate records and prepare summary reports; and assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University’s mission, vision and goals. Experience in project management and Banner Research Accounting module.
Short- and long-term planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; interpersonal and organizational communication, both oral and written.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
