Purpose of Classification:
Overall responsibility for the Foundation's controllership functions.Directs the Foundation's accounting, cashiering and related functions. May be responsible for office services, such as mail and telephone services. Directs, coordinates, and oversees the organization's various financial, accounting, and treasury operations. Establishes Foundation financial policies and standards. Directs and oversees the, general accounting, accounts payables, working capital investments, and accounts receivable.
Standard Duties:
Establishes and carries out the mission statement of the Foundation; formulates goals and objectives for the Foundation in accordance with the overall mission and goals of the institution. Establishes Foundation financial policies and transactional standards, ensuring consistency with the University's mission and strategic plans and compliance with Board of Regents' policies, State and Federal fiscal management laws and regulations, and generally accepted accounting standards.Oversees the supervision of personnel to include: work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution;evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions;motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of the mission, goals, organization, and operational/financial infrastructure of a public university. Knowledge of investment strategies and techniques. Knowledge and understanding of institutional policies and procedures and the regulatory environment within which they operate. Knowledge of assets and funds management principles, methods, and techniques. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State financial laws, regulations, and operating guidelines as they pertain to public institutions of higher education. Knowledge of IRS not-for-profit tax reporting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Strategic planning skills. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision making skills. Organizational planning, structuring, and staffing skills.
Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals. Ability to review and assess the operational and financial viability of new and existing contractual arrangements and grant proposals. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
