Purpose of Classification: | |
Under general supervision, responsible for the design, modeling, testing, delivery, and evaluation of training programs. Utilize knowledge, skills, and experience in all phases of the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) model. Collaborate with clients and customers to determine training requirements; designs training criteria based on client needs; develops training to ensure the appropriate learning occurs; and analyzes evaluation results to determine the effectiveness of training. Conduct both instructor led and online training. May participate or assist in the coordination of organizational and career consultation services. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Conducts or facilitates general and specific training programs. Selects appropriate resources for training aids. Prepares lesson plans relevant to training material. Works with subject matter experts and content owners to identify training needs and objectives in order to develop the training. May recommend changes to the training programs to meet the needs of all learning types. Analyzes training evaluations in order to judge effectiveness of training sessions and to implement suggestions for improvements. May provide guidance to associate level trainers or student employees. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, and of a wide range of training methods, collaboration, research and analysis techniques, and formats. Knowledge of curriculum development and preparation procedures. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Federal, state, and local training regulations. Group facilitation and training techniques. Knowledge of project and time management. | |
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Teaching and facilitation skills. Skill in preparing training aids and plans. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Skill in active listening. Organizational skills and attention to detail. | |

Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, or related field | |
Experience- Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
