Purpose of Classification:
Under general supervision, designs and develops training programs in connection with management development, on-the-job training, and employee orientation. Analyzes and determines training needs, administers plans, procedures, and programs to meet training needs. Constructs training manuals and aids. Supervises or conducts special courses designed for training selected groups of organization employees. May serve as a lead/section head or first level management. May supervise assigned staff.
Standard Duties:
Responsible for all training programs and training outcomes. Confers with management to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training, and conducts training sessions. Determines the best instructional methods for each training session, and tests trainees to measure learning progress. Plans and coordinates management inventories, appraisals, and training. Maintains records of training activities and employee progress and monitors effectiveness of programs. Coordinates participation in outside training programs by organization employees. Responsible for evaluation of training programs and conducts return-on-investment studies. Oversees the supervision of personnel which includes: work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, and of a wide range of training methods, techniques, and formats. Knowledge of curriculum development and preparation procedures. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Organizing and coordinating skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Teaching and facilitation skills. Skill in preparing training aids and plans.
Maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
