Purpose of Classification: | |
Responsible for promotion of best practices in distance delivery for all NMSU courses and programs, introduction and promotion of advancements in technology-assisted educational service deliver, teaching and learning at NMSU and related faculty professional development; promotion of quality in online and hybrid delivery across NMSU Colleges and Campuses; administration of NMSU's learning management system and faculty professional development to support high quality distance education. | |
Standard Duties: | |
This position provides strategic leadership, project management and broad support for the university’s distance education efforts. Develop and administer partnerships to strengthen the program. Oversight of all human resources, procurement and financial transactions for assigned areas. Provide executive leadership and colleges with reports on distance education data, policy oversight regarding distance education, responsible for ensuring that distance education inquiries are appropriately handled. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. | |
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures. Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying and matching talent with tasks. | |
Ability to direct multi-department technical and administrative staff. Ability to and assess proposals for technical merit, cost effectiveness and business application. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to communicate with and understand the requirements of faculty in area of specialty and communicate these requirements to technical staff. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Master's degree in a related field | |
Experience- Eight (8) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
