Purpose of Classification:
Identifies and participates in the evaluation of strategic opportunities pertinent to the objectives of the overall activity. Interacts with senior management and administrators within the university and, as appropriate, within industry and government, to represent and promote the development of strategic programs on a project management basis. Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. 
Develop or update project plans for information technology projects including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing. Monitor or track project milestones and deliverables. Confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems. Develop and manage work breakdown structure (WBS) of information technology projects. Direct or coordinate activities of project personnel.
Standard Duties:
Under general supervision, analyze project requests, understand business requirements and explore options for implementation of project request. Provide high level estimates of the costs of implementing the project request. Provide final recommendation on the plan for installation of a new system or modification of a new system. Create RFPs. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Identifies policy and procedure gaps and develop plans to address them. Assist with portfolio management processes and reports. Participates in the development of research strategies, and acts as a point of consulting expertise to faculty in the effective development of funding proposals and promotion initiatives. Facilitates interdisciplinary collaborative efforts among faculty and/or senior staff and the development of extramural support. May supervise and/or lead staff and/or student employees, as assigned. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Identifies policy and procedure gaps and develop plans to address them. Assist with portfolio management processes and reports. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology environment through execution of Information Technology projects.
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policies, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. short- and long-term planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; interpersonal and organizational communication, both oral and written.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency-
   Certifications/License- May require Project Management Professional (PMP) Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) Upon Hire
