| Purpose of Classification: | |
| Responsible for the development, maintenance, and implementation of information technology and enterprise applications, systems analysis and programming activities that enable a major organization's business processes. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding applications systems analysis and programming sections. Applications Development may include both systems analysis and programming 'from scratch' or configuration of packaged products created by third parties. Manages IT professionals and project managers. Designs and develops training programs in connection with management development, on-the-job training, and employee orientation. Analyzes and determines training needs, administers plans, procedures, and programs to meet training needs and problems. Constructs training manuals and aids. Supervises or conducts special courses designed for training selected groups of organization employees. Supervises, directs, delegates, and evaluates work of assigned staff. The primary functions of the Enterprise Instructional Technology Administrator role are to provide team leadership in the design, implementation, and administration of complex business critical, multi-tiered enterprise applications; provide training and support for instructional technologies including individual and small group consultation with faculty and support units regarding technology tools, learning theory, best practices for teaching, and online/blended course development. | |
| Standard Duties: | |
| Lead in the delivery of instructional technology support services and the professional development for faculty related to the effective design and use of educational technologies. Align the use of educational technologies with effective instructional strategies deployed using various formats including face-to-face, online, ITV, or a mixture of formats (hybrid). Provide consulting on the use of educational technologies used for learning management, content multi-media authoring, learning assessment tools, asynchronous and synchronous communication, and any related technologies. Work with faculty to implement quality standards for instructional design, online/hybrid pedagogy and delivery based on national/international best practices. Beta test and provide recommendations on emerging educational technologies. Assist with the development of online self-help resources, website content, paper guides, workshops, presentations and other support resources for various audiences. | |
| Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
| Knowledge of teaching and learning processes in adult educational settings (e.g. Community College, University, and Continuing Education). Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Knowledge of project management and personnel leadership strategies. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of a broad range of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment. Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol. Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software. | |
| Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures. Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying and matching talent with tasks. | |
| Demonstrated ability in instructional design related to producing and teaching quality online courses/workshops. Ability to provide consulting related to building online courses efficiently with numerous instructors in a professional educational environment. Ability to author technical documentation in paper, online, and video formats for the use of educational technology. | |
| Minimum Qualifications: | |
| Education- Master's degree in a related field | |
| Experience- Eight (8) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
