Purpose of Classification: | |
To assist in all aspects of strength and conditioning program for 16 men's and women's sports program. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Supervises, directs, delegates and evaluates work of assigned staff. Emphasizes nutrition and proper conditioning. Assists in design and demonstrates daily workouts for all athletes. Directs all athletes, both men and women, to their full potential by applied scientific principles. Works with all athletic trainers on rehabilitation of injured athletes. Cleans, repairs and does daily maintenance of all equipment to maintain a safe working conditioning environment. Instructs and trains the graduate assistants. Networks with other centers on programs and latest equipment. Instructs and trains in methods and procedures. Performs related duties as required. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of university and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation; university environment; principles of supervision and training; background in physiology, physical education and kinesiology; nutrition consultant; bio-mechanical analysis. | |
Skill in short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public contact and relations; sports participation at collegiate level. | |
Ability to direct, evaluate, train and supervise the work of assigned personnel; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and evaluate information quickly; lift ability; operate a computer. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree | |
Experience- One (1) year of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
Equivalency- None | |
Certifications/License- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certified CPR/AED & First Aid certified | |
