Purpose of Classification:
The Football Analyst supports the NMSU Football objectives by assisting with the recruiting process within the Athletics Department Football program; assists with the analyzing of football game planning; promotes the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics programs, to include adhering to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, current conference and the NCAA.
Standard Duties:
Assists the Coaching/Football staff by providing film cut ups/highlight films of prospective student athletes. Assists coaching staff in game plan preparation by providing coaching staff with analytics of film and personnel breakdowns to be implemented in schematic planning. Assists the football staff in planning recruiting visits by arranging official and unofficial visits to campus, creating itineraries, securing transportation, hotel reservations, campus hosts, approved meals, tickets, compliance paperwork for each individual; completion of all expense and compliance documentation; supervises coordination of travel for coaches on the road recruiting according to recruitment calendar. Monitors walk-on program by collaborating with coaching staff in maintaining proper squad limits, and discussing walk on procedures with prospective students athletes interned in walking on. Serves as mentor to football student athletes by assisting Coaching staff and Athletic Academic office in monitoring class and life skills attendance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules and regulations. Knowledge of and experience using social media channels. Knowledge of appropriate computer software packages.
Oral and written communication skills. Skill in both spoken and written communications. Skill in making updates to digital and social media channels daily.
Ability to work with minimal supervision under strict deadlines in a fast paced environment. Ability to work non-traditional hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor’s Degree.
   Experience- One (1) year of directly related experience.
