Purpose of Classification:
Manages the day-to-day facility operations of all housing areas, student union, and auxiliary services. Manages external contracts, facilities maintenance, conference services, housekeeping, and housing reservations. Develops and/or participates in the development of marketing strategies and plans related to student housing. Oversees the fiscal and human resources activities of the department.
Standard Duties:
Perform coordination and oversight to custodial and maintenance standards and schedules. Oversight of inventory control, management, and create new techniques to order. Oversight of work order software system. Serve as liaison to OIS architects, contractors, and other agencies. Oversee Op. centers to include key control for 7,000 plus keys, mail system, and packages. Coordinate and create R & R schedule and plans on yearly basis for dept. Develop and oversee facilities and operations operating budget and Monitor utility budget to include solid wasted and recycling.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of communication principles, marketing techniques, strategies, and processes. Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures.
Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Organizing and coordinating skills. Employee development and performance management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals. ability to make recommendations for facilities and space allocation issues. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
