Purpose of Classification:
Manages the day-to-day operations of student housing provided by the University, including off-site student family housing, and Housing & Residential central office. Administers application and assignment processes for campus housing. Serves as system administrator for housing information system software. Oversees billing functions for residential charges. Ensures appropriate levels of: compliance with housing license agreements and space utilization. Supervises staff.
Standard Duties:
Process design , timelines, associated student & staff procedures;Responsible for writing communications to students, parents, department staff & other university offices; management oversight of process t o ensure proper functionality of software as well as adherence to department policies. Review space needs, taking into consideration student demand, facilities projects, guest & conference housing, staffing configuration & gender mix; monitor demand & adjust usage as necessary. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes: work allocation to achieve appropriate levels of customer service, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Monitor traffic & work load. Initial system design and set up; coordinate upgrades; designate security levels & privileges for users; train users, troubleshoot problems, liaison with vendors, monitor daily use, audit processing to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Participates in the development of marketing strategies and plans related to student housing. Establish billing procedures, coordinate implementation with NMSU's University Accounts Receivable, audit processes;Oversees department's fiscal activities. Review, approve or deny requests for qualification waivers; administer license agreement termination process; respond to grievances/complaints; explain, interpret and enforce terms and conditions. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of communication principles, marketing techniques, strategies, and processes. Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures.
Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Organizing and coordinating skills. Employee development and performance management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
