Purpose of Classification: | |
Directs and manages the operations of the clinic to include supervision of RN's and serve as liaison between medical providers and nursing staff. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Manages the clinical operations, customer satisfaction and clinical outcomes of an integrated health clinic. Facilitates the planning, organization, implementation and control of the resources needed for optimal performance of the clinic in coordination with medical and counseling providers, other clinicians and support staff. Is accountable for quality improvement/outcomes assessment initiatives that promote the delivery of high quality care and for the daily management of clinic operations. Supervises, directs, delegates, and evaluates work of assigned staff. Reviews patient charts; makes follow-up phone calls for return visits; ensures emergency room referrals are carried out. Orders medical supplies. Completes work orders for medical equipment repairs and calibration. Files yellow fever and cholera records with the state of NM. Schedules fire drills, serves as the quality improvement coordinator for safety/infection control. Participates in accreditation preparation and state inspection of the facility. Responds to correspondence, recommendation letters, and memos. Disposes of hazardous materials. Instructs and trains in methods and procedures to include electronic medical record system. May fill in for nursing positions, shot room, laboratory, phlembotomy and IV starts. Must use nursing skills and training to interact with patient care for triage, evaluation and assessment. Functions as the employee health nurse (TB & Hep B clearance). Responds to complaints and grievances. Makes hiring and firing recommendations. Develops, changes, interprets, and implements Department policies and procedures. Performs related duties as required. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
University and Department policies and procedures; nursing skills and techniques; medical equipment calibration; CPR and other first aid techniques; principles and practices of organization and administration; University environment; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation. | |

Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field. | |
Experience- Three (3) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. | |

Certifications/License- CPR Certified.State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure . IV Certification. | |
