Purpose of Classification:
Oversees and/or collect fees, clean the pro shop and restrooms, run and clean carts, pick the golf range and any other like duties in efficiently running the pro shop operation in the Golf Professional's absence or other staff absence.
Standard Duties:
Transport clubs to/from guest vehicles and/or group buses. Pick up and drop off guest golf bags at bag drop. Provide directions to golfers to golf-related areas. Assist golfers with carts and equipment. Distribute score cards and pencils to golfers. Remove golf carts from storage area and stage for play. Remove rental clubs for use by guests, and clean and store after use. Store, clean, tag, and organize guest clubs in bag room storage. Clean, detail, restock golf carts after each use. Document any golf cart damage and deficiency for mechanic's review. Maintain cleanliness of golf-related areas. Maintain lines of communication with golf shop to ensure efficiency of course operations and guest satisfaction. Setup/reset/break down practice stations. Pick up/wash balls from practice facility. Ensure the security of all golf equipment in storage. Notify manager/supervisor of any important issues as necessary. Follow all company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University's mission, vision and goals.
Skill in the operation of the listed tools.
Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to effectively supervise staff. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, golf associations and patrons, and the public.
