Purpose of Classification: | |
To set events and ceremonies involving the president and/or the president's spouse and make all arrangements for their success. The hours for this position will be varied and will include night and weekend commitments. Needs to be present at all events from setup to clean-up and serve as institution's protocol officer. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Supervise, direct, delegate, and evaluate work of assigned staff. Serve as protocol officer, Coordinate the calendar, Menu selection, Place setting/decor decisions, Invitation and menu copy writing. Place cards and name tags, Food ordering and delivery arrangements. Venue arrangements (furniture and equipment), Guest arrangements (transportation, lodging). Entertainment arrangements, Outdoor arrangements and Perform related duties as required. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
University and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation, food service operations. | |
Short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public contact and relations; oral and written communication, event planning, culinary arts, large entertainment venue. | |
Direct, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; develop and maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities; analyze and evaluate information, execute events for large organizations. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's Degree in HTRM, Event Planning/Coordination or related field. | |
Experience- 1 year of experience. | |
