Purpose of Classification:
Responsible for institutional development programs. Overall responsibilities typically include institutional fundraising, public relations and alumni relations.
Standard Duties:
Strategist for fundraising programs. Creating new strategies to increase funding and the donor base in support of NMSU initiatives. Assure an appropriate stewardship program is in place. Provide leadership for the Advancement Staff. The Vice President is responsible for enhancing communication, setting clear-cut goals, providing regular performance evaluations, and delegating responsibility effectively to achieve the mission of the university. Act as policy and fund raising advisor for the President of the University. Serve on designated councils, boards and/or committees. Provides leadership and strategy in collaboration with the Board Of Directors to promote the understanding of NMSU programs and projects, the benefits of these programs and projects to NMSU, donors, and the community, strengthening and expanding access to public higher education.

Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University's mission, vision and goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Ten (10) years of increasingly progressive management experience in one or more areas that report to this position.
