Purpose of Classification:
Create and implement a short and long term plans that will serve NMSU as a whole as well as colleges and units. Review and evaluate procedures as they pertain to specific advancement/alumni programs. Develop policies and procedures and implement policies and procedure updates. Serves as liaison and works collaboratively with colleges and units to implement appropriate policies and procedures as it relates to compliance of agreements, guidelines and laws. Communicate with donors regarding the impact of dollars. Composes, appraise and produces gift agreements from inception to completion. Research and follow-up on donor inquires regarding gifts and gift allocations.
Standard Duties:
Responsible for meeting unit goals and objectives as it relates to specialized area. Collaborate with the Leadership and colleagues of the university. Responsible for review of all existing policies and procedures for scholarships across university. In depth interviews, analysis of data, formulation of recommendations for more unified procedures. Initiate account reconciliation efforts among award units. Prepare data to facilitate analysis by units; receive analyzed data and compile summary results; follow up on non-compliance areas. Serve as liaison with colleges and awarding units. Coordinate campus-wide training, communications w/units, research inquiries regarding balances, criteria, etc. Compose, appraise, and produce gift agreements. Produce new and amended gift agreements, research current legal developments, track all phases of agreement production. Serve as liaison with donors. Answer inquiries from donors regarding gifts and gift allocations. Responsible for updating agreements. Review all existing agreements for applicability and relevance; initiate changes. Develops, plans, and implements personalized stewardship initiatives, and coordinates with development officers to determine effective stewardship for major donors.. Plan, execute and review events that highlight donor impact, especially in areas of endowed funds and scholarships. Develop a communications plan to effectively communicate with all constituents regarding the impact of dollars. Create annual and lifetime recognition societies and policies to recognize donors. Develop impact stories that highlight students and/or donors. Utilize multiple media to communicate with various constituencies and generations. Appropriately recognize donors through stewardship activities and communication vehicles. Supervise personnel and manages campus wide projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University’s mission, vision and goals. Knowledge of best practices as it relates to stewardship and advancement communications. Knowledge of social media tools.

Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Eight (8) years of increasingly progressive management experience in one or more areas that report to this position.
