Purpose of Classification:
The Director of Presidential Donor Relations and Development is responsible for developing, promoting, implementing and directing the President's Office including prospect selection, identification, cultivation and stewardship in conjunction with various NMSU entities, as appropriate. Responsible for working directly with all NMSU entities in all donor efforts that involve the President to ensure a flawless execution.
Standard Duties:
Develops, implements and manages donor stewardship plan for the President. Responsible for stewarding the institutions donor relations on behalf of the President's office in absence. Develop cultivation plan and coordinate management of major donor portfolio for presidential prospects. Conducts research using public information to identify potential funding sources for Presidential initiatives at the institution. Responsible for lead donor activities related to the President in conjunction with University Advancement and other NMSU entities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge in a Windows environment using Microsoft applications. Knowledge of fundraising database applications. Knowledge of communications and public relations techniques.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Management experience with a capacity to inspire cooperation and participation. Ability to relate well to the academic community.
Ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and foster long-term relationships. Maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Eight (8) years of increasingly progressive management experience in one or more areas that report to this position.
