Purpose of Classification:
Under general supervision, develops, coordinates, promotes, maintains and evaluates special events, programs, and projects sponsored by the Alumni Relations Office.
Standard Duties:
Develops, coordinates and evaluates programs and projects to promote alumni relations and educational programs such as Career Mentorship Program, Alumni Student Recruitment and Student Alumni Association organization. Plans, coordinates, and attends special events, including alumni and volunteer recognition banquets, receptions, homecoming, and reunions. Identifies, cultivates, and stewards alumni donors and volunteers. Coordinates and produces special reports, proposals, and analyses for management, to include monthly financial statements and/or funds distribution reports. Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies. May develop, sustain, and strengthen alumni chapters nationwide; may advise student leadership in development organizations. May develop and present educational programs for alumni, including lectures, seminars, and workshops. Coordinates and trains volunteers who work on events, projects and programs. Serves on committees relating to Alumni Relations, and serves as liaison between NMSU and the community. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of data management techniques.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Database management skills.
Ability to plan and implement promotional programs. Ability to design and write promotional material. Ability to plan, organize, and facilitate a range of special events. Ability to develop alumni chapters. Ability to develop, prepare, and deliver effective education programs, seminars and workshops relating to Alumni Relations. Ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Two (2) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
