Purpose of Classification:
Under general supervision, develops, plans and coordinates annual gift support.
Standard Duties:
Develops, coordinates and evaluates programs and projects to promote a comprehensive plan and strategy for a progressive annual fund program to include but not limited to direct mail, email and social Media. Develops plans, coordinates colleagues and vendors, designs printed materials and prepare solicitation letters. Long-range and annual planning. Implements and evaluates annual fund program that will acquire new individual donors and upgrade / retain existing. May assist in the development and monitors annual department budget; authorizes all non-capital expenditures; uses a variety of mass solicitation techniques. May administers a direct mail and telemarketing program that solicits annual gifts which includes developing and testing new prospect bases; produces all print material used in solicitation activities. Identify, solicit, steward small portfolio of prospects. Analyze data and compile reports to make program recommendations to the University Advancement staff and other audiences, as directed. Develop and implement an annual operating plan to meet monetary and participation goals. Manage and execute the annual giving department budget in a way that maximizes efficiency and increased return on investment. Obtain and utilize a general level of understanding of the constituent database to conduct data analysis and perform advanced donor segmentation analysis. Coordinate solicitation and stewardship of leadership donors. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University’s mission, vision and goals. Knowledge of: fundraising principles in general and of annual fund, direct mail and telemarketing solicitations; computer operations and applications related to annual giving program strategies; printed material production; program planning; budgeting, fiscal control and personnel management. Ability to: handle multiple complex projects simultaneously; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties. In depth knowledge and understanding of donor constituent database systems is required.
Short- and long-term planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; interpersonal and organizational communication, both oral and written. Strong leadership skills are needed to be successful in this position. Demonstrated organizational and communication skills as well as an ability to work with and motivate other development professionals and volunteers.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Two (2) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
