Purpose of Classification:
Oversees the daily operations of institutional fundraising programs and activities for a major, high-profile, income generating enterprise of the University. This position will inspire a collaborative environment, while providing direct major gift fundraising solicitation and leadership.
Standard Duties:
Oversees all facets of the daily operations of the organizational unit, ensuring compliance with the University, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations. Assists in the initiation, coordination, and evaluation of university fundraising activities; provides guidance and leadership to the university community including administrators, faculty, staff, students, and volunteers relative to fundraising activities. Oversees the planning and coordination of fundraising activities. As assigned, will oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Writes solicitation proposals, reports, press releases, and communication materials. Represents the University to various institutional divisions as well as externally to vendors, students and their parents, and/or the general public. Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements fundraising agendas and programs to assist in accomplishment of established fundraising goals. Coordinates and produces travel budget, and other special reports, proposals, and analyses for management, to include monthly financial statements and/or funds distribution reports. As assigned serves on committees which recommend, coordinate, and implement changes and/or improvements in fiscal controls, policies, procedures, and/or financial and human resource management systems. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of alternative fundraising programs, methods, and techniques. Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Outstanding interpersonal and community relations skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community. Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate media activities and special events. Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Eight (8) years of increasingly progressive management experience in one or more areas that report to this position.
