Purpose of Classification:
The Campaign & Strategic Initiatives Director collaborates with the Foundation’s leadership, college leadership and university administration to provide support in formulating fundraising strategies, tracking, and reporting of campaign milestones to enhance communications, stewardship and donor relations, campaign events and promotions among prospective and enrolled students, parents, faculty and staff, alumni, donors, state and regional leadership and the community at large. Additionally, this Director collaborates with the Foundation’s marketing communications and events team to develop and implement campaign branding and key messaging for the campaign.
Standard Duties:
In cooperation with Foundation leadership & development staff, colleges and university leadership, the Director will coordinate and manage the process for identifying campaign- and fundraising-related university priorities and initiatives and, in coordination with marketing communications, will showcase those priorities and initiatives through public relations, promotions, advertising, web content, and leading-edge social media, donor relations, stewardship, and events. Primary responsibilities include development and assessment of strategic planning and campaign initiatives for the university. The Director will also play a significant role in supporting and communicating the strategic agenda for University Advancement. He/she will help facilitate a strategic management process and will also provide consulting expertise and program management for pursuing specific strategic initiatives that are deemed critical to the Foundation’s success. The role is also responsible for formulating senior management presentations and interacting with his/her peers across the enterprise to ensure Foundation alignment and synergy. This position will be responsible for developing integrated alumni and donor strategies and activity plans for key new programs and initiatives that will build and enhance donor and alumni relations (e.g. – development of a “profitable” alumni travel program). Works with cross-functional teams to analyze and present key financial and strategic opportunities to senior leadership. Coordinates campaign strategy and priorities among campaign constituents. Works with the Foundation and university leadership to identify volunteer campaign leadership (e.g. – campaign co-chair/s, campaign executive team members). Actively participates in the creation of marketing deliverables, communications and events for the campaign. Partners with the Foundation, the colleges and university personnel to manage and communicate the campaign timeline milestones into ongoing public relations outreach.  Oversees campaign data reports. Articulates overarching Foundation priorities; develops corresponding messaging to support Foundation key initiatives; collaborates with senior staff to develop staff training around new strategic initiatives and campaign priorities. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of best practices and industry standards, as well as current trends in marketing, digital media, and communications technology. Knowledge and understanding of the culture, nature and purpose of development/advancement activities as they apply to a Foundation and a University. Knowledge and understanding of how to apply the principles of integrated marketing, communications, and event coordination as it applies to higher education and fundraising and have a strong knowledge of market research principles and applications.
Highly motivated individual with a record of professional success, demonstrated integrity and compelling leadership skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong organizational skills. Must have strong skills in analysis, effective interaction with all levels of employees and constituents, setting priorities, resolving conflicts and managing multiple priorities. 
Ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituencies and ability to both work independently and as part of a team, proposing and managing university-level. 
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor’s degree in a related field .
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
