Purpose of Classification:
Advises, monitors, and provides risk management/assessment for NMSU student media outlets. Acts as authority for the Dean of Students and VP for Student Success in matters concerning FCC regulations and First Amendment and press law authority.
Standard Duties:
Advise editor-in-chief, general manager of radio & staff, regarding First Amend & press law issues, confidentiality of sources, journalistic best practices & FCC regulations. Monitor and critique publications and broadcasts. Provide risk assessment for all student media outlets.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing student media outlets.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Information research, analysis, and evaluation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
