Purpose of Classification:
Edits, writes, and prepares materials for the printing of manuals, books, manuscripts and journals for publication.
Standard Duties:
Completes a variety of writing and editing assignments of increasing complexity. Edits material for inclusion in a variety of publications, news releases, documents, and online media. Researches, gathers, analyzes, translates and composes information into clear, readable documents able to be viewed and understood by technical and non-technical personnel. Works as a team member when working on special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques. Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements. Solid technical knowledge in general and proven working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe Suite. Understanding of electronic transaction processing; client-specific knowledge highly-preferable. Demonstrated expertise in U.S. English grammar.
Excellent time management and personal organization skills. Outstanding technical, editing, writing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to evaluate and edit the content, structure, and format of a range of written material. Ability to develop and prepare manuscript copy for printing and/or reproduction. Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- No previous work experience required.
