Purpose of Classification:
Performs scheduling for broadcast programs including underwriting for on-air operations. Prepares daily program log for scheduled programs and assigns promotional material to appropriate time slot using a computerized scheduling system.
Standard Duties:
Prepares daily program log by obtaining information such as source, location and length of program. Calculates exact length of programs and time slots available for promotional material; assigns promotional material to be inserted between programs. Coordinate daily program announcements via social media. Creates and issues weekly computerized program schedule as determined by the Program Manager and approved by the Station Manager; verifies correctness of programs and issues program schedule changes and/or additions as needed. Coordinates computer operations in regard to program scheduling; determines problems with system and confers with data processing personnel to resolve. Responds to inquiries and complaints from viewers in regard to program scheduling verbally or in writing. Maintains program logging or other operational procedures as new regulations or technology requires. Coordinates with promotion department to solve logistical problems in coordination of on-air promotions for daytime and evening programming.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of broadcast federal rules and regulations. Knowledge of broadcast traffic operations. Knowledge of television technical operations.
Skilled in the performance of the duties outlined above.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- High School diploma or GED certificate.
   Experience- No previous work experience required.
