Purpose of Classification: | |
Under general supervision, develops, promotes, implements, and manages a large Community College fundraising program including the development of comprehensive plans for soliciting and securing major gifts. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Strategist for fundraising programs at a large community college. Creates new strategies to increase funding and the donor base in support of a community college's initiatives. Assures an appropriate stewardship program is in place. Provides leadership to assigned staff. Responsible for enhancing communication, setting clear-cut goals, providing regular performance evaluations, and delegating responsibility effectively to achieve the mission of the community college. Serves on designated councils, boards and/or committees. Provides leadership and strategy in collaboration with other senior administrators to promote the understanding of innovative programs and projects, the benefits of these programs and projects to the community college, donors, and the community, strengthening and expanding access to public higher education. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of prospect research techniques. Capital/computerized campaign knowledge. Knowledge of communications and public relations techniques. Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures. | |
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Employee development and performance management skills. | |
Ability to plan, organize and implement major gift programs. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field. | |
Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
