Purpose of Classification: | |
Provides leadership, direction and support in carrying out the mission of New Mexico State University and the NMSU Alumni Association. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Leads and supports the board and staff of the Alumni Association in developing and implementing programs that build stronger relationships between New Mexico State University and its alumni and friends. Effectively communicates the interests and concerns of alumni and friends of New Mexico State University to members of the campus community. Serves as a member of the Advancement Division’s administrative and leadership team and assists in developing and implementing policies and programs that support the University’s mission. Provides discovery information to the AVP for Development and Director of Prospect research to assist in the assessment of major donors. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University's mission, vision and goals. Knowledge of the principles and techniques associated with the use of a constituent database. | |
Proven organizational, communication and planning skills; | |
the ability to maintain a positive and mutually supportive relationship between the Alumni Association and the University; a vision for alumni relations; leadership ability; integrity; the ability to work as a contributing member of the development and alumni team; the ability to promote a positive image of New Mexico State University. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field. | |
Experience- Eight (8) years of increasingly progressive management experience in one or more areas that report to this position. | |
