Purpose of Classification:
Lead and manage the Environmental Systems Department. Preparation of design standards for building environmental systems. Review and assessment of existing and planned university building environmental systems. Development of renovation projects to include specification, design and commissioning. Management of outside firms used under contract to design and specify projects.
Standard Duties:
Building Automation System Development. Project analysis, definition, specification and design, project system and controller software design, programming, testing and documentation, system performance verification. Have oversight and provide direction to department personnel and their efforts to support existing and conceptual building automation support systems.General oversight of all department automation projects. Collaboration with staff and Consulting Engineers on new projects. Oversight and acceptance of automation work performed by contractors associated with internal and external projects. Departmental staff technical interactions andDevelopment and implementation of supporting systems and infrastructure. Set goals and develop strategies to keep pace with advances in technology. Administrative interaction and shop supportPersonnel approvals of leave and purchases. Routine meetings. Budget oversight. Meetings and interactions with other university departments. Provide education, training and technical support to Trade Shops.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University's mission, vision and goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- None
   Certifications/License- Candidate must have a CEM or Must take the CEM exam within 1 year of their date of hire. Candidate has to obtain the CEM certification within 2 years of their date of hire.
