Purpose of Classification:
Under limited supervision, performs senior level carpentry duties necessary to construct and maintain building woodwork such as bins, counters, shelves, benches, stairs, doors, and windows. Function as a team leader and provides procedural and technical guidance to less experienced carpenters.
Standard Duties:
Assigns and inspects the work of carpenters and trades helpers; initiates corrective actions to secure satisfactory standards and timely project completion. Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment maintenance. Determines material and labor estimates. Participates in maintenance, repair and installation duties in the trades.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the trade. Knowledge of all applicable codes standards and regulations.
Skill in installation, repair and maintenance of all systems and assignments common to the trade. Skill in estimating time and material requirements for work projects.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- High School diploma or GED certificate.
   Experience- Eight (8) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.
