Purpose of Classification:
Coordinates and schedules department moves and special events setups within the University. Assists movers in loading and unloading desks, chairs, files, tables, boxed materials, and other items. Routinely interacts with all constituents within the community. May work in research and/or patient care areas.
Standard Duties:
Schedules moves and movers. Loads and unloads furniture and related materials onto and off trucks, ensuring that appropriate padding and ropes are used to prevent damage. Locates and relocates desks, chairs, tables, bookcases, and other related office equipment and furniture. Arranges and sets up furniture and related items for classroom and special events use as instructed. Supervises the work of employees in supporting roles, including assigning workload and monitoring employee performance. May assist in various maintenance activities as required. Maintains records of work performed. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Performs snow removal, as required. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Coordinating and scheduling moves and/or special event set-ups; supervising the work of other employees including assigning workload and monitoring performance; and maintaining records of work performed.
Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Records maintenance skills.
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Ability to lead and train staff and/or students. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- High School diploma or GED certificate.
   Experience- One (1) year of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency-
   Certifications/License- Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
