Purpose of Classification: | |
Responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of routine maintenance operations. Trains and supervises the custodial staff to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operation. Requires knowledge in the care and use of power equipment. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Supervises two or more full-time employees; Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees, or makes related recommendations; Schedules work to meet normal requirement without interfering with residents or occupants of office space; Directs workers performing cleaning tasks; Develops and participates in a training program which familiarizes custodial staff with particular problems involved in custodial services including improved techniques; Inspects buildings, rooms, storage space, hallways, fixtures and custodial equipment to observe the results of work; Requisitions appropriate materials and supplies; Prepares and submits appropriate reports and memoranda regarding custodial policies and procedures; Recommends budget, materials and equipment for the area. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of cleaning standards and techniques; Knowledge of equipment and material usage and maintenance. | |
Skill in supervising the work activities of assigned staff. | |
Ability to communicate effectively. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- High School diploma or GED certificate. | |
Experience- Five (5) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
Equivalency- Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience. | |
