Purpose of Classification: | |
Leads the work of Painters and Trades Helpers and participates in the repair, maintenance and inspection of projects. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Assigns and inspects the work of Painters and Trades Helpers; initiates corrective action to secure satisfactory standards and timely project completion. Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment maintenance. Participates in maintenance, repair and installation duties in the trades. Participated in analysis of product health and environmental hazards as stated on legally required manufacturers Materials Safety Data Sheets to ensure application of materials as appropriate to area of installation. Assists in determining material and labor estimates. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the trade. Knowledge of all applicable codes, standards and regulations. Knowledge of lift equipment operation, hazardous materials handling safety procedures, asbestos abatement and scaffold safety. | |
Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces. Skill in repair and maintenance of painting assignments common to the trade. Skill in estimating time and material requirements for work projects. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- None | |
Experience- Five (5) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
Equivalency- Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services. | |
