| Purpose of Classification: | |
| This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks in the efficient operation, utilization, installation and repair of the campus facilities automation and energy management systems including direct digital control (DDC) systems connected to heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. | |
| Standard Duties: | |
| Troubleshoot and repair steam distribution system and related equipment; performs steam distribution system maintenance activities; operates and maintains high/low pressure steam boilers, related controls and safety devices; performs related work as assigned. | |
| Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
| Performs journeyman level work in the maintenance, repair and operation (MRO) of the steam distribution system and related steam specialty equipment. | |
| Proficient in pressure pipe and structural welding; skilled in the use of all trade specific tools and equipment. | |
| Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; adequate troubleshooting abilities; possess the ability to safely lift at least 75 pounds; ability to work under pressure in critical situations; supervisory ability. | |
| Minimum Qualifications: | |
| Education- High School diploma or GED certificate. | |
| Experience- Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
| Equivalency- Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience. | |
| Certifications/License- Receipt of valid New Mexico High and Low Pressure Boiler Certification B01/B02 boiler operator’s license within nine (9) months of hire date. Pipefitter certification within twelve (12) months of hire. Valid unrestricted driver’s license. | |
