Purpose of Classification:
Manages all production activities and operations including studio and remote site productions including scheduling equipment and personnel. Responsible for facilities management. Consults with producers and directors to determine most efficient execution of production design including staging and lighting environment for multimedia productions. Prepares cost estimates for equipment and labor in preparation of production budget; monitors production budgets. Directs technical production staff and participates in set-up and operation of remote site production activities; maintains production standards and quality control. Produces and directs special events or projects.
Standard Duties:
Supervises, implements, designs, and executes lighting and sound for all productions and rentals building, including hanging, loading in, cueing and related paperwork. Maintains integrity of the designs for productions. Mentors and oversees student crews and practicum students. Maintains and upkeeps all lighting and sound inventory. Coordinates with occasional guest Lighting and Sound designer(s) to generate proper paperwork and schedules. Coordinates the maintenance of facility and equipment to ensure optimum functionality; identifies, assesses, negotiates, and resolves building maintenance and usage problems. Serves as liaison between facility operations and physical plant operations; recommends correction of deficiencies; coordinates remodeling activities, as appropriate. Schedules space usage, controls key issuance and building security; prepares calendars and maintains records. Oversees and coordinates day-to-day on-site public assistance activities such as security escort, public information, and/or visitor transport services. Prepares scheduled and periodic reports of facility usage, maintenance, and condition. Maintains and orders equipment and supplies for facility operations. Serves as building monitor and safety monitor. Schedules and coordinates all facility rentals, including creating and issuing rental contracts. Oversees events held at facility; interacts with auxiliary staff as appropriate to the specific event. Coordinates building availability and oversees all lighting and sound design and execution for all renters Facilitates billing and collection. Performs various clerical duties as required and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of lighting instruments and equipment. Knowledge of theatrical terminology and safety practices.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to lift loads up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's in related field.
   Experience- Three (3) years of experience in theatrical/producion design.
   Equivalency- Any equivalent combination of education and directly related experience as approved by HRS.
