Purpose of Classification:
Manages and oversees the planning and day-to-day administration of the University’s Employment and Compensation Services units. Supervises the development, implementation, and administration of programs and policies within these specialized areas of Human Resources Services.
Standard Duties:
Coordinates the activities of subordinates. Advises, interprets and provides direction to management and staff on Board of Regent policy and university rules and procedures involving Human Resources Services. Provides subject matter expertise for training purposes, conducts information sessions, workshops and seminars for staff and university community groups. Assists in determining changes to be made to training programming to ensure appropriate skills development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Knowledge of statistical sampling and survey methodology. Knowledge of job analysis and job evaluation principles, methods, and procedures. Knowledge of compensation administration principles and procedures. Working knowledge of computerized applications and procedures as applied to Human Resource Services.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of personal computers, enterprise information systems, and related software applications. Records maintenance skills. Database management skills. Skill in developing policy and procedure documentation.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to provide on-the-job and technical guidance and training to staff. Ability to serve on a team to plan, coordinate, and administer complex administrative systems and processes. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
