Purpose of Classification:
Responsible for investigating all complaints and allegations of discrimination and sexual misconduct in compliance with federal, state and University mandates, including Title VII, Title IX, ADEA, ADA, Section 504, and VAWA.
Standard Duties:
Receive and conduct informal and formal complaints of discrimination and harassment filed by students, staff, faculty, or visitors in compliance with federal and state law and University policies and procedures. Interacts with students, staff, faculty, and visitors at all levels of the University performing investigative and information resolution duties. Evaluate complaints to identify issues, develops an investigative plan, interviews parties and relevant witnesses, gathers and secures relevant documentation, analyzes evidence and data, applies policy, drafts detailed written investigative finding reports based on preponderance of the evidence standard, and participates in University proceedings related to complaints. Assures compliance with timelines, acts as an impartial party, maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion, and ensures a prompt, fair, and neutral process for all involved. Provides interim and protective measures, guidance, and assistance to complainants and respondents. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University's mission, vision and goals.
Short- and long-term planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; interpersonal and organizational communication, both oral and written.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
