Purpose of Classification: | |
This position administers the affairs of the Classroom Technology Department. Works with and recommends classroom layout and equipment for the entire NMSU Las Cruces campus. Negotiates the contribution of funds from each unit to the individual projects. Specifically designs, orders equipment, and oversees the installation. Manages cable TV system, satellite uplink and downlink systems for the entire Las Cruces campus. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Recommends classroom layout and equipment for all units on the NMSU main campus as well as other NMSU campuses when requested. Administers the business affairs of the Classroom Technology Department. Project billing and inventory tracking. Provides multimedia support for NMSU administrative units and special events. Routine classroom maintenance and classroom usage instructions. Oversees satellite uplink and downlink and campus cable TV System. | |

Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise. Knowledge of the policies and procedures specific to the job duties. | |
Skill in examining and evaluating operations and developing and/or re-engineering operating strategies, systems, and procedures. Organizational skills. Records maintenance skills. | |
Ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform repairs to computer and audiovisual equipment. Ability to provide formal and informal instruction to non-technical personnel in the use of computer hardware and/or software. Ability to schedule events and/or facilities usage. Ability to set up, calibrate, and operate audio and video equipment. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's in a related field. | |
Experience- Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
Equivalency- Any equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by Human Resource Services. | |
