Purpose of Classification:
Monitoring of the Student Information System and audit for compliance with applicable requirements; implement recommendations and ensure that the system is flexible to meet user needs; incorporate user input and feedback to develop plans to enhance the system. Manage web development projects/tasks for Student Information Management Information Systems.
Standard Duties:
Provide structure and guidance to support web applications, but not limited to web applications. Thorough knowledge of ERP student and financial aid systems with ability to analyze and interpret relationships between ERP systems, in-house and third party information systems. Responsible for upgrades and enhancements of the end user functionality requests. Responsible for documentation, testing, end-user training. Prioritize development, enhancement and maintenance projects/tasks. Strong database design, structure, functions, procedures and use of database tools. Responsible for the automation of the processes. Work as liaison to central IT and university community relating to information systems. Maintain confidentiality of student records. Work with university operations to understand data needs and system requirements. Liaise with technology team to enhance systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge to support student and financial aid systems. Strong knowledge of understanding of principles, procedures, regulations and standards applicable to information systems. Knowledge of student and financial aid data systems. Knowledge of relational databases and data management processes.
Skill in database design, structure, procedures, functions and use of database tools. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency through prioritizing and following through on commitments.
Must be able to discover and see problems that may arise while developing or enhancing information systems. Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, and provide conclusions or approaches to the job. Must be able to interpret complex documents and formulate an opinion. The ability to apply general rules to specific problems and produce a solution that will work for all students. Must be able to effectively train others. Ability to multi-task.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined
