Purpose of Classification:
Conducts research and studies. Responsibilities typically include the design of studies, data collection, analyses and reporting.
Standard Duties:
Provides leadership in the efforts to acquire, manipulate, develop, and maintain data. Conducts and/or consults on a wide variety of survey research efforts; participates in and advises on survey construction, objectives and rationale, development of survey instruments, and design of survey protocol and procedures. Performs and/or advises on data reduction, statistical analysis of data, and interpretation of results; prepares or participates in the preparation and presentation of formal research reports. Facilitates the development, implementation, and evaluation of integrated self-assessment programs, as appropriate to the objectives of the position; coordinates assessment activities, provides technical support, and facilitates the integration of processes and findings into planning and decision-making. Analyzes functional requirements in order to answer fundamental questions of fact using varied data resources. Prepares responses to external queries such as faculty salary surveys, employment statistics, enrollment statistics and projections. Formulates and prepares responses to external queries and requests for data and statistics on a wide range of issues. Designs, executes, analyzes, communicates, and consults on the results of ongoing and one-time analytical studies using appropriate inferential statistics. Represents the department to Faculty Senate committees, ad hoc committees, and task forces, as assigned. Provides functional direction to lower level technicians on assigned work. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University’s mission, vision and goals.
Short- and long-term planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; interpersonal and organizational communication, both oral and written.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
