Purpose of Classification:
Under general supervision, oversees and coordinates computer and network operations and/or production coordination in a computer center and support activities for a large, complex computer installation.
Standard Duties:
Plans work schedules and assigns staff to ensure adequate shift coverage for twenty-four-hour computer operations. Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution. Monitors computer and network systems using operating systems utilities; interprets console messages from system software or applications program, and performs required actions. Participates in identification and resolution of computer problems. Provides information and training to end users on new equipment and/or software changes. Responds to inquiries and researches and resolves problems related to transactions handled by the unit; serves as liaison with other constituencies in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational issues. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Develops, implements and enforces operating procedures for the work unit. May work outside of normal working hours and/or on a rotating shift basis, as appropriate to the requirements of the specific position. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
