Purpose of Classification: | |
Under general supervision plans, conducts and supervises assignments. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Serves as the point of contact for users to receive support and maintenance with telecommunications equipment. Resolves the most complex non-routine telecommunication system failures through isolation, analysis, and troubleshooting of problem areas. Issues are typically resolved via phone or direct data link from a diagnostic center, but travel to sites may be necessary for more complex issues. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Determine daily work order load and plan task assignment for each work order. Maintain constant communication to determine proper time for installation during a remodel. Troubleshoot, install, maintain and change A-wireless system.Assist in interpreting the needs of building, tenant, and estimate/distribution design architect. Formulate action plans and propose to client. Coordinate different trades. May be assisted by entry/junior or intermediate level employees.Oversees the supervision of employees, which may include: work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University's mission, vision and goals. | |
Skilled in the installation of building wiring and network hardware. | |
Develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field. | |
Experience- Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
